Upon its construction, the formerly named Sears Tower was the world’s tallest building - holding the title for almost 25 years until 1998 when the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur were completed. The Sears Tower was renamed the Willis Tower in 2009 and is still the world’s tallest steel construction building.
