On piers flanking the entry to his first studio in Oak Park, Illinois, 1898 studio, Frank Lloyd Wright envisioned two sculptures of a solid, crouching figure of a man. For this majestic figure, he turned to sculptor Richard Bock. The Boulder - here reproduced as a unique paperweight - symbolizes the struggle of the oppressed and shackled soul to break its bonds and find self expression. These pieces are faithfully reproduced from the original designs.
