The saguaro design by Frank Lloyd Wright is an adaptation of the blooms on a saguaro cactus, the state flower of Arizona where Taliesin West is located. Wright originally created this design for the cover of the November issue of Liberty Magazine (1926-1927), but the design was thought too radical and never published.
